PRESS RELEASE
Richmond Business Improvement District (BID), which represents over 300 businesses in the Richmond town centre area and which operates as Be Richmond, has temporarily changed its brand strapline in order to support social distancing in the battle against COVID-19.
The move comes after recent media coverage showing photos and footage of people in Richmond Park and at Richmond Riverside not observing social distancing guidelines.
The strapline, ‘Live * Work * Explore’ has been amended to:
‘Live * Work * Explore Stay at Home’
Ellen Storrar, Be Richmond Manager explains:
“COVID-19 is having a major negative impact on many of the businesses we represent. In order to beat the disease and get things back to normal, it’s important that we all support Government guidelines by staying at home, supporting the NHS and saving lives.
We were disappointed to see so many people in our town not following Government advice, so we decided to send out a strong message. We want everyone in Richmond to act responsibly so that we can get COVID-19 under control in the near future. We look forward to welcoming visitors to explore our beautiful town and its wonderful range of businesses when it is safe to do so. Until then, please play your part by staying at home.”
