Centre Stage 2026: Richmond Myths, is set to be town centre event like no other – transforming the streets, green spaces and historic buildings of Richmond into a vibrant, immersive cultural experience this July.

Taking place from Friday 17 to Sunday 18 July, this three-day festival will offer experiences suitable for people of all ages, including lots of family friendly activities.   Be Richmond is proud to be this year’s Official Community Partner for Centre Stage.

At the heart of this year’s programme is Richmond Myths, developed in partnership with Orange Tree Theatre, which weaves storytelling and performance across the whole weekend. Expect pop-up theatre, unexpected encounters and reimagined legends appearing everywhere from the riverside to the Old Town Hall.

Starting on the Friday, twelve Olympian gods will launch the festival in a spectacle of music, dance and performance. Across Saturday and Sunday, community groups and writers will animate locations throughout the town centre, while Hill Rise becomes a hub of live music and creativity, with The Muses composing personalised poems for visitors.

Saturday brings a packed programme of activity centred around George Street. Visitors can take part in hands-on creative workshops for all ages, from large-scale making and clay installations to puppet-making, instrument-building and collaborative street design. Alongside this, Kinetika Bloco AllStars will bring carnival energy to the streets with interactive workshops and a vibrant procession, while Skate Street offers ramps, demos and creative sessions celebrating skate culture.

Music is a key highlight across the weekend, including Back to The Belvedere on Whittaker Square, inspired by Richmond’s iconic music heritage and featuring DJs and live sets spanning genres and generations. The Youth Music Showcase will also spotlight emerging local talent, bringing the borough’s next generation of artists to the stage.

Alongside performances, visitors can explore the Independent Richmond Market, street food stalls and an Eco & Nature zone focused on sustainability, with activities such as seed planting and urban nature workshops. Whether you’re discovering live performances, getting creative with family, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, Centre Stage 2026: Richmond Myths invites everyone to experience Richmond in a completely new way – full of imagination, energy and shared celebration.
