Be Richmond is bringing something exciting to the heart of Richmond this July – a brand new mural!

The mural will celebrate the town’s rich heritage and beautiful riverside landscape. To bring this vision to life is local artist duo A&K Art (Alice and Katie), who are starting the project on 16 June 2026.

The project has been supported by Five Guys Richmond and Eligo Wilkinson, property owner of Five Guys Richmond, helping turn an everyday route between Hill Street and Castle Yard into a memorable destination in its own right.

The Story Behind the Artwork

More than just public art, the mural is part of a wider effort to strengthen Richmond’s sense of place and create welcoming spaces that encourage people to explore and enjoy the town centre.

Therefore, the design of the mural blends iconic local landmarks with personal stories and natural beauty. At the centre of the artwork is Richmond Bridge, surrounded by recognisable scenes including Richmond Theatre, Richmond Hill, Bushy Park, traditional London symbols, and the wildlife that defines the Thames landscape.

One particularly meaningful feature is the inclusion of a kingfisher and a commemorative blue plaque honouring the memory of the property owner’s late mother Ann Wilkinson. Ann’s sons - Guy and Neil- worked closely with the artists to incorporate personal elements into the design being painted onto the building occupied by Five Guys restaurant.

Meet the Artists

Alice and Katie both grew up in the London borough of Richmond, specialising in bespoke hand-painted murals. Their vision was to create something that reflects Richmond’s unique identity while giving the community a space to feel proud of for years to come. Working alongside Be Richmond and the Wilkinson family, they carefully incorporated local stories and emotional connections into the final piece that brings a deeply personal touch to the project.

Save the Date!

Keep an eye out for the official unveiling that will take place in July – date to be confirmed soon!

As the project comes together, one thing is already clear. This mural is set to become a new symbol of Richmond pride, celebrating the stories, beauty, and community spirit that make the town such a special place to call home.
