Be Richmond organised a community litter pick on Monday 17th May. The aim was to ensure that the town was looking at its best for visitors, in readiness for indoor hospitality reopening on the same day.
All the litter collected will be used to generate ‘green’ energy. Nothing will go to landfill.
It’s all part of a campaign to support retail and hospitality businesses in Richmond town centre. Shoppers, diners and visitors are being encouraged to return to Richmond, explore the whole town and ‘rediscover’ Richmond’s diverse natural and architectural features as well as its extensive retail, hospitality and leisure offer.
The campaign is being publicized via radio, press and digital advertising.
In addition, special maps designed to help visitors to explore the town have been produced. Downloadable versions of the map are available here.
To add atmosphere, ‘pop up’ musical performers including an opera singer and a busker, will perform short sets around the town.
Ambassadors will also be on hand to guide visitors to places of interest.

Whilst exploring Richmond, we want visitors to rediscover the amazing selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars throughout the town.’
