Richmond Blooms Thanks to Local Schools & Scouts

As summer begins, Richmond town centre is looking greener and more vibrant, thanks in part to the efforts of local school children. Be Richmond (Richmond's Business Improvement District) has taken significant strides to add colour and greenery to the area through the provision of flower planters and hanging baskets.

This year, Be Richmond partnered with local schools and community groups, giving them the opportunity to actively participate in the planting efforts and contribute to the town's beautification. The Eco Council from Deer Park School enthusiastically embraced the challenge, revitalising the planters on Hill Rise with a stunning array of flowers. Meanwhile, the North Richmond Scouts group demonstrated exceptional dedication, ensuring the planters outside the Odeon on Red Lion Street were ready for their close-up.

"We wanted to give the children of Richmond an opportunity to learn the importance of planting and sustainability," stated Anna Bromley, Be Richmond Marketing Manager. "We also provided them with their own wildflower seeds to plant at home, encouraging them to continue their green-fingered activities."

Be Richmond remains committed to improving the town's environment, from greening initiatives to comprehensive street cleaning. This collaboration with local schools and community groups not only beautifies Richmond but also instils a sense of community pride and environmental stewardship among the younger generation.
