Get on Board – Bus Campaign Goes Live
Look out for our new bus advertising campaign which will be live in and around Richmond from 25th September.
The ads feature our Live, Work, Explore theme and are expected to be seen nearly 3 million times during the campaign.
Project News – Community Clean Appointed
Plus: Energy Cost and Recycling and Updates
Community Clean have been appointed to undertake street cleansing including: removal of dirty stains, areas of ‘grot’ and chewing gum from town centre pavements. The company has over 25 years of experience and will be commencing work very shortly.
BID businesses are currently being contacted by Charlie Barker of Powerful Allies to discuss energy cost reduction opportunities. This is a key area which Richmond businesses highlighted during the consultation process. You can email Charlie direct here
Over 50 BID businesses are now benefitting from the First Mile Recycling services. The scheme is now discussing glass recycling with BID businesses. You can contact First Mile here
New Website Update
The new Be Richmond website will be live from 25th September (when the bus advertising begins).
The site will have loads of great information for stakeholders and the general public. It will also have a section giving details of levy paying businesses. In order to populate this part of the site, we need the following from you as soon as possible:
- Photograph or logo (300 dpi resolution file size 5MB max)
- 50-word description
- Address including postcode
- Telephone number
- Website address

Ready, Steady… Richmond Runfest
16th & 17th September
The hugely popular annual Richmond Runfest, is held over 2 days, and is the largest running event in the area.
During the Runfest there will be an initiative to entice runners, friends and families to visit shops in the town and benefit from special offers.
The charity supported this year is Macmillan.
In Conversation with Dame Maggie Smith
One of the country’s most distinguished actors, Dame Maggie Smith, is appearing at the Orange Tree Theatre for the first time, in conversation with Gyles Brandreth on 19th November.
She will give a fascinating insight to some of the people she’s worked with, admired and learned from and it will be an unrivalled opportunity to see agreat artist talk up-close in the Orange Tree’s unique in-the-round space.

Ssshh, it’s a Secret!
Come along to the Richmond Adult Community College, Parkshot between 11am and 6pm on 22nd & 23rd September and take part in the Environment Trust’s Secret Art Sale.
This is an art exhibition and sale with an unexpected twist! All works are anonymously donated by acclaimed artists, art students, celebrities, architects, illustrators, jewellers and photographers. You can buy any of the original pieces for just £35 but the twist is that you won’t know who produced the art until you buy it!

Tales from Concrete Jungles
David Lindo, aka The Urban Birder, will be appearing at Duke Street Church, Duke Street, Richmond on 14th October at 8pm in aid of the Environmental Trust.
David was recently names as the 7th most influential person in wildlife by BBC Wildlife Magazine.
